Some people just aren't that smart...

More and more lately I've been realizing just how stupid some people are. Especially those people that come off as smart, or at least as decently bright.

There's a particular individual in one of my PoliSci courses that, while seen as a mainly idiotic individual when it comes to life itself, has always seemed (to most, I believe) a rather bright individual. In fact, at the beginning of the semester I was under the same impression. I had spoken to him many times in the past on several topics in philosophy, and he seemed relatively bright (at least compared to most at Whittier).

But, in this class at least, he just isn't that smart. He's one of those individuals (and I know all of you either know of someone like this, or are someone like this - in which case, I'm so sorry) who has diarrhea of the mouth when he doesn't know something, which is sadly quite often. He even does this on papers: the class averaged 2-3 pages (either single or double spaced) and somehow he got 4 pages, single spaced.

I guess it just continually surprises me how some people got in to Whittier, and especially that they're still here. Whatever. Doesn't bother me.

Cheers,
